New list of healthful chains
Health, which describes itself on its website as "America’s most-trusted health and wellness magazine, giving women the most credible, useful, and up-to-date information and inspiration on how to live a healthier, happier life," has posted several articles that may interest chain operators. The main story, headlined "America's Healthiest Restaurants," purports to show which restaurants menu healthful dishes and offer easy access to nutritional information.
The five judges, who included nutritionist Margo Wooten, Dsc., of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, the advocacy group long critical of chain fare, examined the food at 43 full-service restaurants and 53 QSRs.
Winners included Uno Chicago Grill, Mimis Café and Souplantation and, surprisingly, Denny's, praised for its "Fit-Fare" menu. No traditional fast-feeders appear on the list of the healthiest quick-service eateries -- only fast-casual restaurant, as you might expect. There's also a list of the least healthiest places to eat. The judges hang warning signs on menus at Chili's, O'Charley's, Cracker Barrel and Taco Bell.
California Pizza Kitchen, Bonefish Grill and Bertucci's come in for criticism for witholding nutritional information. "These places might look like healthy options, but they provide NO nutritional information. And we begged," the judges assert.

How can they award praise to the healthiest eateries, when they only reviewed 96? Was it a contest?
