Starbucks of popcorn
Think you've got it tough growing to 100 units? If so, commiserate here:
According to a recent article in Forbes.com, the CEO of the six-year-old chain, which operates 12 company-owned units, is hoping boldly flavored popcorn will tickle the palates of consumers. If so, he's thinking 500, a 1,000 units.
What constitutes bold in the popcorn "industry"? Apparently, wasabi and chili con queso. I know. Been there, done that.
Been to Red Lobster, too. I like the place but I'm always surprised when I discover that foodies also enjoy the fare. Here, for instance, is an excerpt from a Cleveland-based blogger who is gushing about the seafood chain:
Of course, that bit about "one in every city of every state" gives me pause. After all, it is April 1.
