Joe's Steampots, Cheesecakes and Beefcake

June 26, 2009
We've had a request to run the latest Joe's Crab Shack Steampot commercial, and we're happy to oblige. For one, it's funny, and who doesn't love a funny commercial.

Plus, the food looks delicious. And its playful stereotypes are actually memorable enough that people are going to go into the restaurants and say, "I want the Boston one," or "Give me the Gulf Coast Steampot."

Finally, we tend to attract many people looking for more information about Joe's Steampots. Proof is in the Web metrics.

So this one goes out to you, Christine, and all the Joe's Crab Shack Steampot fans out there. Add your comments in the box below.

As always, if you'd like to see a restaurant-chain commercial or other video discussed in this space, just shoot an e-mail to chainleader@reedbusiness.com.

I have to admit this commercial is completely rediculous. Why does the Gulf Coast representative have to be a fat, sloppy, mullett-wearing Bubba? There are some of the most beautiful women in the country in the Southeast U.S., and making fun of the Gulf Coast by blatantly stereotyping the area that way is really a shame and this company should rethink their advertising. This really isn't necessary. The East Coast girl could be perceived as stuck up and elitist, and the West Coast girl could be a fake-breasted ditzy-blonde slut, but neither is nearly as obvious as Bubba. Give us a break, people...

Actually, Joe's is headquartered in Houston, right on the Gulf Coast. So, they are really making fun of themselves. One thing I love about their commercials is that they don't take things too seriously. They are fun and memorable. Kudo's to Joe and his team.
