California Tortilla Voted Best Burrito by Washingtonian

East Coast restuarant chain nabs prestigious reader-voted award.

PRESS RELEASE: ROCKVILLE, MD - Popular East Coast quick-casual chain California Tortilla was voted "Best Burrito" by readers in the July 2009 issue of  Washingtonian Magazine. This was a hotly contested category with national players Chipotle and Moe's placing second and third.  California Tortilla, a growing chain of almost 40 restaurants, is known for unique and delicious burritos such as the Blackened Chicken Caesar Burrito, Crunchy BBQ Ranch Burrito and Honey Lime Burrito, as well as for their "Wall of Flame" which is made up of 75 different (and head exploding) hot sauces.

Company president Bob Phillips is thrilled that California Tortilla is the Best Burrito victor. "Winning this award is confirmation that our commitment to serving only the highest quality food resonates with customers," he said.  "Because not only are we one of the only ones using all white meat chicken breast and fresh sirloin steak as the mainstay of our burritos, we also make all of our critical menu items such as salsa, guacamole, queso cheese and white corn chips several times throughout the day to ensure every customer gets  the freshest product possible." 

Last year, Washingtonian readers voted California Tortilla  "Best Vegetarian Food" and "Best Dining for Kids."
