Ice cream floats on a lake of hot fudge lava from a chocolate cake volcano in Friendly's new dessert line.

PRESS RELEASE: WILBRAHAM, MA--(Marketwire - November 17, 2009) - Friendly's new Lava Cakes let dessert lovers have their cake and eat it too -- along with ice cream, hot fudge and whipped topping. Each warm, deep chocolate mini-cake opens to reveal a hot fudge center that spills out to encircle three scoops of Friendly's premium ice cream.

Now available at all Friendly's locations, Lava Cakes come in four flavor combinations:
-- Peppermint Stick: A decadent taste of the holidays, this dessert
includes a deep chocolate Lava Cake, surrounded by three scoops of
Peppermint Stick Ice Cream, covered with more hot fudge, whipped topping,
green and red peppermint candy pieces and topped with a cherry.
-- Forbidden Chocolate(r): A chocolate lover's dream come true, the Lava
Cake is encircled by three scoops of Friendly's indulgent Forbidden
Chocolate(r) Ice Cream, and topped with Swiss chocolate topping, dark
Belgian chocolate curls, Swiss Miss(r) cocoa powder, whipped topping and a
cherry.
-- Mocha Java: A showstopper for those who like a touch of coffee with
their chocolate. This dessert includes three scoops of Vienna Chocolate
Mocha Chunk(r) ice cream accompanying a Lava Cake, topped with hot fudge,
dark Belgian chocolate curls, Swiss Miss(r) Cocoa powder, whipped topping
and a cherry.
-- Hunka Chunka PB Fudge(r): A crowd pleaser for peanut butter cup fans,
the Lava Cake is paired with three scoops of Hunka Chunka PB Fudge(r) ice
cream, accented with peanut butter topping, dark Belgian chocolate curls,
