PRESS RELEASE: OAK BROOK, Ill., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- When 23-year-old Brandi Futch of White House, Tennessee went to her local McDonald's(r) restaurant for a McChicken(r) sandwich, French Fries and Sweet Tea, she never imagined she would be walking away $1 million richer. But that's exactly what happened when Futch peeled off the two most coveted Game Pieces in the MONOPOLY(r) Game at McDonald's - Boardwalk and Park Place - from her Sweet Tea to become a $1 million winner in this year's Game.
"Winning the $1 million prize in the MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I think I'm still in shock," said Futch. "I haven't decided what I'll do with the money I've won, but I know that a new house and car are on my list. The MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's is something I look forward to each fall, so you better believe I'm going to keep playing now that I know you really can win big!"
As Futch discovered, the MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's made every day a potential $1 million day. New this year, McDonald's customers could also enter codes from their Game Pieces at www.playatmcd.com for a chance to win the opportunity to participate in the "$1 Million Dollar Dice Roll" on NBC network shows such as "The Jay Leno Show" and NBC Sports primetime programming. One lucky player each day landed on "Chance" on the virtual Online Game Board and the next day would have the MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's Dice Machine triggered on their behalf by NBC's primetime personalities for a chance to win either $1 million (if they rolled double sixes) or $10,000 (for all other combinations). Players can also still watch each dice roll at playatmcd.com.
"We congratulate Brandi as she joins the roster of MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's million dollar winners," said Douglas Freeland, director of marketing, McDonald's USA. "Each year, the MONOPOLY promotion changes the lives of some of our customers, and Brandi is another great example that people win big money playing MONOPOLY at McDonald's."
While the in-restaurant and daily $1 Million Dollar Dice Roll portions of the MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's have ended, customers can still play online at PlayatMcD.com through November 16th with prizes like the $100,000 Online Jackpot Sweepstakes still up for grabs. This year, consumers also played for additional big cash prizes, and other rewards from promotional prize partners such as Xbox 360(r) Entertainment Systems, Shell, My Coke Rewards(r) and Boingo(r) Wi-Fi.
The MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's is open to residents of the U.S., Canada, Guam and Saipan. The online Game is open to residents of the U.S. and Canada. For complete details and official Game rules, visit www.playatmcd.com.
