Spaghetti Warehouse to Give Free Lasagna on National Lasagne Day

Restaurant chain Spaghetti Warehouse serves up interactive strategy by giving away free lasagna on National Lasagne Day.

PRESS RELEASE: IRVING, TEXAS - Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. today announced it is using its new Facebook page by giving away free lasagna during National Lasagne Day.

With 20 restaurants in nine states, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. is keeping an eye on expanding its brand as it prepares to launch the company's message on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, among others.

Using the company's Web site - www.meatballs.com - as a platform, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. is offering an incentive to all Facebook users who become fans of the page. Every user who becomes a fan of the page by 5 p.m. EST on July 27 will be sent a coupon, redeemable for one free lasagne good between the hours of 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 29, 2009 (National Lasagne day) at all Spaghetti Warehouse restaurants.

In addition to the National Lasagne Day, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. is also starting a Free Lasagne for a Year Contest. The contest is being offered to help spread the Spaghetti Warehouse brand across social media platforms. Users who participate will be able to save the photos they have created to be used as their own profile pictures across these platforms, as well as be able to share their creations with their friends.

Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurants Inc. is partnering with Indianapolis-based MZD Advertising on a variety of interactive, creative and public relations services to update guests on the latest news from each of its locations throughout the country.

MySpace will be a prominent social media platform. It will be set up similar to all the other social media sites, sharing the same content between all of them.

"As never before, we're discovering there is an opportunity to reach out to people...introduce them to our menu and invite them to come and spend a part of their afternoon or evening with us in a way that's fun and relaxing," said Azan Malik, president, Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant Inc. "Using Facebook, Twitter and My Space is a way to reach out and tell consumers about the new and exciting things we have taking place at Spaghetti Warehouse."

Spaghetti Warehouse was founded in 1972 by Chef Victor Petta Jr. to create a casual dining restaurant to showcase recipes handed down through generations of the Petta family.  Petta offered classic Italian family dishes, served in generous portions with an added American flair.  Spaghetti Warehouse's first restaurant with an old-world feel was opened in a converted warehouse in downtown Dallas, Texas.
