PRESS RELEASE: PLANO, Texas - (Sept. 10, 2009) -In 1996 Todd Graves, CEO and founder of Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers shared his idea of ONE LOVE-chicken fingers-by opening the first Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers restaurant in his hometown, Baton Rouge. Thirteen years later, Raising Cane's, now one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains in the U.S., today welcomed customers to its 86th restaurant and 11th Texas location in Plano, site of the company's recently opened restaurant support office.
Plano's Raising Cane's opened to much fanfare at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony featuring Graves and Plano Mayor Phil Dyer. Following the ribbon cutting, Caniacs from around the Metroplex and local residents streamed into the restaurant to be among the first customers. Plano customers were able to register for drawings for Cane's prizes including free Cane's for one year and a $1,000 donation to the charity of the winner's choice.
"Raising Cane's is very excited to open our first restaurant in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex since we launched our new restaurant support office in Plano," said Clay Dover, president and chief marketing officer of Raising Canes. "As Raising Cane's enjoys another successful year, we look forward to continuing our growth and reaching new Caniacs in the Metroplex and throughout America."
Raising Cane's is an American success story of a young, growing, fast casual restaurant with a strong commitment to its unique culture, fresh food, crewmembers, customers and communities. In conjunction with the grand opening, Graves, his wife, Gwen, and Raising Cane II, namesake for the restaurant and certified pet therapy dog, continued their commitment to the local communities Cane's serves by visiting patients at Children's Medical Center at Legacy in Plano to offer support and assistance for the hospital's young patients.
"Raising Cane's is committed to being an integral part of each community we serve," said Todd Graves, founder and CEO of Raising Cane's. "It's our way of saying thanks for the continued support that has made Raising Cane's a success."
The Plano restaurant will be open Sundays - Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to midnight. It is located at 6513 W.
